Tallahassee Firefighters address Mayor Dailey

On February 22, 2024 our Tallahassee Firefighters met with the City to start their three year contract. The Firefighters and City still have not come to an agreement on the one year contract.

Mayor Dailey recently stated in a NEBA meeting that they would not be able to proceed to negotiating the three year contract. However, we know this is untrue. The two parties are able to negotiate the three year contract normally.

Mayor Dailey also stated that progress in the one year contract was stalled due to the union. We know this to also be untrue, and we witnessed this divisive tactic used by the City previously. Because of the transparency of the negotiation sessions during this one year contract, the union members are more unified. As a result their Union is gaining strength, trust, and confidence with one another.

Joey Davis, The union president for the Tallahassee Firefighters addresses this in a video for the public. During his video he also clarifies other statements made by the Mayor.

We know how important it is to understand what is happening in our government. Yet it appears that our own mayor has not taken the time to understand for himself. While he seems quick to anger, he is also quick to speak falsely.
