Where are you from and how do you think that impacts or influences your
decision to run?
… In a few Months, I will have lived in Leon County for 59 Years, it is my Home. I want
to run because I want to help move Leon County in a positive direction.
What do you believe you have brought or will bring to the commission that
is unique to you?
… What I hope to bring to the Commission is new Ideas. The Drive to cut Wasteful
Spending, to lower the Crime Rate, to improve our Local Economy among other things
without stepping on to many Toes.
Affordable housing is a growing problem especially in Leon County. Many
neighbors now face high rent costs or mortgage costs, do you have any
new or fresh ideas?
… I am not sure how new this Idea is but, we need to consider cutting back on how much
the County pays towards Subsidized Housing Payments. Hopefully, the Landlords will
lower their prices so as not to lose Tenets.
Do you support a consolidated government with the city? Why or why
not?
… NO. I will never support it or even consider it. The City Commission does not know
how to Spend Wisely.
Do you support an interlocal agreement with the city (specifically fire/ems
services but could apply to other services)? If so, what do you plan to do
to mend the relationship with the city? If you do not, what do you plan to
suggest to offset our neighbor’s tax cost for a new county fire
department?
… This fits right in with question 4, this is another City Boondoggle where the City over
spends on the wrong agendas and more proof why the County should not consolidate
with the City. The last Fire Station they built, the City over Designed it making it cost
$Millions more than it should have. To keep the cost of a new Fire Station is simple,
DON’T Over Design it.
When it comes to Blueprint, if there was one project you could remove,
what would it be? Assuming that blueprint has sufficient funding to
replace the project you removed, what project/idea would you replace it
with?
… Any project that has nothing to do with Infrastructure should not have any Blueprint
Money involved with it. That include the Stadiums, the Bus Transfer Station and
Affordable Housing Projects. I would like to see more Sidewalks where they are actually
needed, More Roads Paved that actually need it and even Road Widening Projects.
Many of our neighbors locally and in Wakulla are feeling and seeing the
effects of bad environmental practices on our waterways. Our county and
city play a role in this destruction, is this an issue that concerns you, if so,
what will you propose in order to correct our negative impact on our
environment?
… YES, it concerns me a lot. Since the majority of the issues have to do with Raw
Sewage, I want to see better and more often Preventative Maintenance Schedule
implemented with Records being kept. ALSO, since a large percentage of the issues
happen at the Treatment Plant at Capital Circle and Spring Hill Road, I would also like to
see a Lined Moat installed around the outer perimeter of the Plant that incorporates
Pumps that will pump the Spills back into the Tanks to keep it from making its way to
Lake Munson. We should also speed up the Change Over from Septic Tanks to Central
Sewer for the Woodville Area.
We have seen our public assets being sold by the city at an expedited
pace. If the county proposes selling county assets, what is your position
on selling public assets and what does your ideal process for selling
public assets look like?
… This fits in with question 4 on why the County should NOT Consolidate with the City. I
would never advocate to selling any County Assets and only if it was necessary to do so,
it should always be for Top Dollar.
Neighbors living in the city pay county taxes. How do you plan to
represent their voices when they feel unheard by the city elected
officials?
… I plan to represent ALL of Leon County and that include the City of Tallahassee. Before
Voting on Agendas, I would like to know how it would effect EVERYONE.
What is one thing your neighbors can’t find through a Google search but
that you would like your neighbors to know about you?
… The one thing, that would have to be that, “I am not like anyone you have ever met”.
